Vion Leeuwarden resumes slaughter business

Due to the high percentage of disapproved cattle carcasses compared to the nation-wide average, Vion temporarily suspends its slaughter activities.

Upon negotiations with the Dutch Food Authority (NVWA), purported to engage in uniform, consistent and Union Law compatible meat inspections, Vion Leeuwaarden has recommenced her activities, without legal intervention. The competent minister has announced an investigation.

Vion was represented by Defares in close cooperation with another leading Dutch law firm.
