Bling bling tobacco regulation goes too far

Pursuant to new regulations, tobacco packaging may no longer be shiny, gold, silver, bronze or copper, that is to say: bling bling. The aim is to decrease the attractiveness of tobacco products for young people. Market leader in its field, Cubacigar is the Belgian importer of premium Cuban cigars (Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagás ). She considers the stricter packaging requirements disproportionate, not compatible with Union Law and therefore unlawful. Against this background , Cubacigar has initiated proceedings against the State.
